Sign Language Studies welcomes manuscripts about the language, culture, history, and literature of signing communities. While the journal is especially interested in work concerning deaf communities, signed languages used by hearing people are also of interest. Sign Language Studies welcomes articles of original scholarship, review essays on important themes, and solicited book reviews. Within these parameters, submissions from any scholarly discipline will be considered.

The editor is now reviewing manuscripts to be published in future issues. Manuscripts, editorial questions, or other correspondence should be addressed to:

Editor, Sign Language Studies
Gallaudet University Press
800 Florida Ave, NE
Washington, DC 20002

Manuscripts should be between ten and forty pages in length and must be submitted in duplicate, double spaced, with at least one-inch margins all around. The author’s name should be placed on the title page only to facilitate anonymous peer review. Manuscripts must be in English.
