About Annals
First published in 1847, the American Annals of the Deaf is the oldest continuously published journal in North America—and the most widely read English-language journal dealing with deafness and the education of persons who are deaf. The Annals is the official organ of the Council of American Instructors of the Deaf (CAID) and of the Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf (CEASD).
The Annals publishes four literary issues each year plus the annual reference issue. The reference issue is used throughout the year as an important source of information about schools and programs for deaf or hard of hearing children and adults in the United States and Canada.
Our readers are the key players in the field of deafness education. They include program administrators, classroom teachers, counselors, diagnostic professionals, sign language interpreters, librarians, scholars, and parents—all involved in the education and training of children and adults who are deaf or hard of hearing. They are responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, books, services, and equipment for their students and programs. They are interested in learning about materials, equipment, and services either designed for, or adaptable for use with, their students and clients.
Circulation averages around 3,000 copies per issue and is growing. If you have a message of interest to our readers, the Annals offers cost-effective advertising.

Always indicate what software you used to create your ad file; a printed file directory should accompany all digital ad submissions. If submitting EPS, PostScript, QuarkXpress, PhotoShop, or Illustrator files, please contact Advertising.
Full-size proof of all ads required, labeled with the ad file’s title.
Send your files on high-density floppy disks, Iomega Zip, Iomega Jaz, CD-R, and e-mail attachment or FTP by arrangement. Accepted compression methods are WinZip on PCS and Stuffit on Macs. Do not send your only copy of the files; always make a back-up copy.
Other than electronic files: Camera-ready copy required: one-piece negative, right-reading emulsion side down, 133 line screen.
No bleeds; no color.
